Nomi January 2026 Product Updates for Bookkeeping and Payroll Software

In January 2026, Nomi introduced the latest updates across Bookkeeping and Payroll. These enhancements improve accuracy, visibility, and control, helping accountants and employers work faster, reduce manual effort, and manage financial tasks with greater confidence.

January 2026 Bookkeeping Software Updates

Find the latest updates in Nomiโ€™s bookkeeping software, designed to improve accuracy, speed, and overall ease of managing your financial records.

Improvement in OCR for receipts:

Weโ€™ve enhanced the OCR functionality for receipts in Nomi, significantly improving extraction accuracy. The system now intelligently categorises receipts into fully extracted and partially extracted, giving users clear visibility and better control over review and posting.ย

Additionally, users can now post fully extracted receipts in bulk, saving time and reducing manual effort. Partially extracted receipts can still be reviewed and completed as needed, ensuring accuracy is maintained. These improvements smooth receipt processing, speed up bookkeeping workflows, and deliver a smoother overall user experience.

Presentation improvement in TB and BS:

Weโ€™ve enhanced the presentation of the Balance Sheet (BS) and Trial Balance (TB) in Nomi to improve clarity and accuracy. Balances are now displayed strictly according to their natural account behaviour, assets and expenses showing debit balances, and liabilities, equity, and income showing credit balances.ย

This alignment with standard accounting conventions makes financial statements easier to read, review, and interpret. It also reduces confusion during reconciliations and client reviews, ensuring figures appear exactly as accountants expect. These improvements deliver a more intuitive, professional, and reliable reporting experience.

Adding P45 Preview and ZIP Download in Send for Approval:

Email to Main Contact, employers can now view draft P45s before running payroll, alongside draft payslips. Earlier, this was only possible after payroll was run, limiting review and correction opportunities.ย

Now, employers can confidently review documents, identify issues early, and approve payroll with greater accuracy. For multiple employees, a ZIP file is generated for easy access, while single-employee cases receive a PDF. This reduces rework, saves time, and strengthens payroll approval control and compliance.ย ย

Improved Employee Sorting and Filtering on Payroll and Pension Dashboards:

This update makes employee lists much easier to use. Users can now sort employees by surname instead of only first name, making it quicker to find people.ย

They can also view the newest employees first on both the Payroll and Pension dashboards, which helps track recent joiners easily. Overall, this saves time, reduces confusion, and makes managing employees simpler, especially for companies with many staff.

These improvements help you work faster with clearer insights and stronger controls across finance and payroll. Weโ€™re committed to continuous enhancement based on your needs. Contact us at support@nomi.co.uk. Stay connected for more exciting updates.
