Nomi October 2025 Product Updates for Accountants

Nomi October 2025 Product Updates for Accountants

In October 2025, Nomi introduced major updates across Bookkeeping, Final Accounts, Payroll, and Self-Assessment modules. Bookkeeping now has a standardised date picker for consistent entries across all sections. Final Accounts reports handle special characters accurately, with optimised code for better performance. Payroll enhancements include Adoption Leave management, fixed pension contributions, and automatic employee age display. Self-Assessment features improved UI, clearer payment guidance, accurate calculations, better document handling, and HMRC compliance alerts, making Nomi more reliable, efficient, and user-friendly for accountants and businesses alike.

Bookkeeping

The date picker in the Bookkeeping module is now implemented across all sections to standardise date inputs. Users can either select a date from the calendar or type it manually, and the system auto-formats it to DD/MM/YYYY. It accepts different separators like slash, dash, dot, or even no separator. The input is validated for correct day, month, and year within 1900โ€“2100, with leap year handling included. Two-digit years auto-convert (for example, 24 becomes 2024). A placeholder showing DD/MM/YYYY guides users, and invalid entries highlight in red.

This feature is applied in Sales, Expenditure, Banking, VAT, and Reports, ensuring consistency and a smoother user experience across the BK module.

Final Accounts

Special Character Issue Resolution and Code Optimisation
We have successfully resolved special character issues in Final Account reports across both the user interface and submission XML. The update ensures that all reports display and process characters accurately without errors. Additionally, we optimised the codebase by removing redundant scripts and outdated logic previously used for special character handling. This cleanup enhances overall system performance, improves report accuracy, and simplifies future maintenance, ensuring a more stable and efficient reporting experience.

Payroll

Statutory Adoption Leave (SAP)
Statutory Adoption Leave (SAP) has now been added under the leave management section in Nomi. This new option allows users to record and manage adoption leave for eligible employees in compliance with HMRC guidelines. Once the leave details are entered, the system automatically calculates SAP based on the provided information, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the HMRC calculator. This enhancement means that Nomi now fully supports Adoption leave as part of its statutory leaves offering, alongside maternity and paternity leave.

Fixed Amount Added for Auto-enrolment Contributions
A new enhancement has been added for Auto-enrolment, allowing users to select a fixed amount for pension contributions instead of only percentage-based values. Once the fixed amount is entered, the system automatically calculates the tax relief based on the selected calculation method. In addition, a warning message will appear if the entered contribution does not meet the minimum requirement set by pension regulations (5% for employees and 3% for employers).

Employee Age Display
A new enhancement has been introduced in the Edit Employee > Personal Details and Pay Details pages. The employeeโ€™s age is now automatically displayed next to the Date of Birth (DOB) field. This allows employers to instantly view the employeeโ€™s current age without needing to calculate it manually. The feature is especially useful for compliance and statutory purposes, such as verifying pension enrolment eligibility or other age-related requirements.

Self-Assessment

UI Alignment & Visual Enhancements
All Self Assessment screens now feature updated square icons aligned with the modernised UI, ensuring a consistent and seamless interface.

Clearer Guidance for Payments on Account
The description for the Other Tax Information field has been updated for 2025โ€“26 Payments on Account, providing clearer guidance to help users apply reductions correctly and avoid submission errors.

Enhanced E-Sign Document Handling
The e-sign workflow has been improved โ€” all signed documents and uploaded files are now automatically organised within a dedicated Attachments section, simplifying review and client approval.

Income Schedule Layout Improvements
The Income Schedule has been refined to present details more clearly, streamlining the data entry and completion process.

Interest Accuracy Alignment
Interest figures displayed in the Tax Calculation now automatically align with those in the Income Schedule, ensuring consistency across the return.

Self-Employment Compliance Enhancements
Field descriptions within the Self-Employment section have been updated in line with HMRCโ€™s SA103F form, supporting more accurate entry and improved compliance.

Capital Gains Computation Improvements
Updates have been applied to ensure Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations correctly reflect total losses within the CGT document.

Employment Benefit Display Correction
All employment benefits are now fully visible within employment schedule documents, preventing incomplete records and ensuring accurate reporting.

Threshold Warning Enhancements
Threshold warnings now provide clearer prompts whenever income or entries exceed reporting thresholds, improving user awareness and compliance.

HMRC Authorisation โ€” Clear Role Separation
For MTD ITSA, the system now distinctly separates client-level and agent-level authorisation, enhancing operational clarity.

HMRC Token Expiry Alerts
Users now receive advance notifications before HMRC connectivity tokens expire, allowing timely refreshes to prevent interruptions.

SA Agent Dashboard Enhancements
A new โ€œSwitch to Old Dashboardโ€ option has been added during the transition phase, providing flexibility while adopting the new interface.

Confirmation on Submission (MTD ITSA)
A confirmation step has been introduced before final submission to prevent accidental filings and boost user confidence in submitted returns.

This October 2025, Nomi rolled out major updates across Bookkeeping, Final Accounts, Payroll, and Self-Assessment. Enhancements include a standardised date picker, special character handling, Adoption Leave management, fixed pension contributions, improved UI, accurate calculations, and better HMRC compliance.
